Oops, Sorry again...

My goodness, has it been THAT long since I posted? My bad. Though not much has happened. I turned eighteen, which is a big deal in Denmark. It was a lot of fun. I got to have like four parties. We had a nice dinner on my birthday, and then my friend Erin came up for the weekend, and I had a nice lunch with all of my host families. It was awesome. And my classmates bought me a CAKE on my birthday! :D It was so sweet of them. I have been pretty busy lately since I have started to actually do some of the homework that we're given in school. It's good to have something to do. I'm getting really excited for our class study tour. It's in a couple of weeks, and we are going to DUBLIN! :) I love Ireland, so I am really excited to go back. Other than that, not much has happened. Nothing terribly exciting. I had a good time with Erin when she was here, and I was bummed to see her leave. OH! I dyed my hair. :) Hehe. I like it. Next week is our first school party. All of the school parties here are themed costume parties, and this one's theme is like... Bad Guys... So my friend Ida is dressing up as Scarface, and the plan is for me to be her "little friend". I don't know how well that will work out, but we'll see. I'll try really hard to update more often, or at least when something exciting happens. :) Vi ses!

Sorry sorry!

Goodness gracious me, this has been an insanely busy month for me. I haven't blogged since before Spain, so I think I should start with that. We flew down on Friday. Not too bad, not too bad at all. Kind of a long boring flight because I had nothing to do. Oh well. Then I ate some tasty ice cream. :) Mmmm... Friday night I unpacked my things in the flat, then we all walked down to a little restaurant near the beach and ate dinner. :) Very exciting. We had paella, which is something we studied in Spanish Class last year. Very tasty, and very interesting. After that, we went for a walk in the dark along the beach. Amazing. The next day we had a birthday party with the family members, and it was really cool. We went out there around eleven and stayed all day. Incredible tasty food, cute little kids to take pictures of, dancing. I learned to salsa. (Okay, I didn't, but I gave it a shot!) I learned that "en España, hacemos dos besitos!"haha, which means "In Spain, we do two kisses!" Because at one point I accidentally only gave one and they were all like "No no! Dos besitos! Dos besitos!" :) Everyone was super duper friendly. We also ate these amazing little balls of coconut (like a Samoa but without the cookie. And the chocolate. And the caramel.) I am going to learn how to make them, and I am getting them with my birthday cake! :) Amazazizingly good. All in all, a fun fun day. The next day was Sunday, and I got to explore the town a bit. We drove up onto one of the two mountains in Barcelona and looked out over the sea and the city, and we rode in a little ski-lift type thing. We also went to a sweet old castle. Everything was so beautiful. Then we went down to the Ramblas which is like a huge pedestrian street. It was really cool. There were tons of artists painting and stuff and lots of souvenir shops. I stopped in at a Brasilian restaurant to see if they had brigadeiro, but they didn't so I bought a Coke. It was very disappointing though because everyone in there was from Spain. It was like walking into a Chinese restaurant and seeing all Mexican waiters. Just doesn't feel authentic. Oh well, it was just a Coke. :) Very tasty. After that, we went to lunch down on the beach and had yummy burgers with bacon. Then I got to hang out with some locals who were friends of the family. They were very international! (One girl spoke SIX languages!!) It was intense. And lots of fun. Then back to the flat for toast. After eating toast, we took the subway to this huge fountain in the middle of the city where on weekends they have a cool show. They do this sweet light show with music and stuff in the fountain, and it's hard to explain. But really beautiful. I took tons of pictures which someday I will put on the blog. I bought a couple of cool souvenirs too. The next morning, I got up before everyone else, showered, and walked to a bakery where I ordered a loaf of bread and a canole (in Spanish all by my lonesome). I took the bread and walked down to the beach. I sat on the beach for a couple hours eating bread (and a canole of course) and taking pictures and just kind of enjoying the Mediterranean. Super beautiful. After that, I went back to the flat, had some coffee and a bit of bread, and packed up. We flew home, and I sketched a lot on the plane. I did some sweet sketching while I was in Spain. :) Drawings I actually like, which is rare for me. So here I am back in Mountain Town. I actually rode m bike home from Hjørring today which was fun. :) It's about 6km, so I think I'm gonna do that pretty often. Also, I found a sweet bike path that leads to the ocean, so Alex and I are gonna check that out sometime soon. It's about 10km, and totally worth it. SO beautiful. :) So basically, life is good. That's all. Haha. I'll try to update more often from now on. Sorry for the long absence. :)
